ALL IRELAND MAZDA LEAGUE
Lagan Valley Male and Female Teams both qualified for the final of the All Ireland League in Tullamore. The Ladies were the only Northern Ireland Team in the Premier League Final and finished a magnificent fourth place. The Men competing in Division 1 preformed way above expectation missing out on qualification to the Premier Division by one half of a point.
NORTHERN IRELAND CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS
Lagan Valley Ladies culminated a very successful winter season by winning their first Senior Cross Country title and thus qualifying to represent Northern Ireland in the British Euro Club Championship Trials in Liverpool on November 22nd. The team was led by Suzanne McCormick who ran away with the individual title with a gun to tape victory. She was ably supported by Jill Shannon, Julie Murphy and Catriona McCorkell in 10th, 11th and 12th positions.
The Lagan Valley Junior Women’s team of Lyndsey Rea (2), Patricia Brady (3) Sarah Quee (5) and Faye McManus won the Northern Ireland U20 Championship in Bangor.
The Under 17 Girls team of Patricia Brady (5) Cathy Reavey (12) Heather Scullion (17) and Holly Humphries (19) won the Northern Ireland and Ulster Cross Country in Comber.
Terry Eakin was runner up in the Veteran’s Over 50 Championship Cross Country in Bangor.
